Shakespeare Presented

Shakespeare has a special place in the history of theatre, and theatre posters have a special place in the history of graphic design. Diving into the impressive collection gathered between the covers of “Presenting Shakspeare - 1.100 Posters from around the World'', compiled by Mirko Ilić and Steven Heller, we discover thousands of posters produced for Shakespear’s plays, with a great variety of approaches and notable distinctions between different bodies of work. Showcased in the Typopassage, a selection of 12 graphic visions created for “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” offers a glimpse into the history of graphic design and the evolution of the theatre poster in different times and cultures.
